REFLECTION

To be honest, compared to the other modules this semester, this is the most likeable module because the assignments does not require technical drawings and the topics are also really interesting. This module has two projects and one mid term examination.

On the very first project, we were required to make 8 pages of sketches and it is an individual assignment. I find this assignment quite enjoyable because I get to draw in a more liberal way instead of being limited to a certain set of rules like what we encounter in technical drawings. The sketches should also include some information regarding the place we sketched. To make our experience better, we did not limit ourselves by only searching up the information online, but instead, we decided to go directly to the site to have a better look of our chosen space. There we took pictures of the buildings which later on will be drawn and we gather as many information as we can. I sketched all of my chosen buildings carefully and even though the process was long and I slept in the morning for a week, I was really satisfied with how it turned out.

The next step is the mid terms exam, as an architecture student who already got used to do assignments, I was nervous because it has been a while since I studied. I started slowly learning the materials a week before the exam since I was aware I am a slow learner and I wanted to play safe. Everyday for one week I dedicated most of my time learning one chapter each day so I will not be too overwhelmed one day before the exam. I listened to the pre recorded lectures thoroughly and take many notes. On the examination day, the questions are surprisingly easier than what I have imagined in my head, so the results are also pleasing.

As for the final project, it was a group project. Uniquely this assignment does not require much drawing as we were told to make a video and also a digital poster. For this assignment we were also required to go back to the site so we can document the situation for the video. We were actually struggling when we did it because compared to other groups, we were progressing slowly and was way behind. But on the final week all of the group members sat together and we did it together until we were done to make sure everyone was doing their parts, in addition, it was also more efficient. We caught up with the other groups in a few days due to our perseverance and managed to submit our work on time. This project taught me a lot about how we should manage our time properly and how we should prioritize each modules equally so we can prevent starting late on a project again.
